Found in the southern area which forms the heel of Italy’s “boot” is a region of Puglia.For travellers seeking seclusion, Puglia is the perfect location. Several beaches are found along the coastline which is the longest in Southern Italy amongst gorgeous white stone architecture making the area known as “Florence of the South.” One of the favored beaches to visit is the Marina di Pescoluse which offers shallow water and soft sands which are ideal for children and inexperienced swimmers.
If you find yourself as far as Lecce, another site to check out is the Punta Palascia where the Adriatic and Ionian Sea merge. At this point you can take in the amazing ocean views from the lighthouse perched on the rocks.
